Daily Word: What Treasures Do You See? Proverbs 16:16

How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver. Proverbs 16:16, TLV

What Treasures Do You See?     When wisdom and understanding are our priorities, we view the world differently. We see the inconsistencies, the injustice, the lack. Seeing our choices through our Heavenly Father’s lens helps us to focus on the reality that no matter what is going on around us, He’s still sovereign. He is LORD. He is the beginning and the end of all things.

Sometimes our faith and wisdom journey may seem like we have nothing to show for our efforts. While the world around us pursues wealth, they may have the rewards of that pursuit represented by silver and gold. What do people see as our reward?

A Different Lens

Perhaps they don’t see. But with our Father’s lenses, ah, there is much to see. Rewards much more valuable than precious metals and jewels. Rewards such as eternity in heaven with our LORD. Peace. Joy. Community. Love. That knowing this world has little to offer us except the untainted beauty of His creation and created and the brothers and sisters we cherish.

That’s what we can see every single day. His blessings. And, as we continue our journey, we can help others to see, too. To join us in this amazing—and challenging—time of being His children.

Think More About It

Can you name three treasures that may only be seen through the lens of God?

Until tomorrow, may we see what is precious in our Father’s sight, my friends.

With the virulent rhetoric about Israel and the Jewish people, we know that through God’s lens truth about His people is a golden, precious treasure. Please pray for His discernment to see and pray with His lens. God bless you!
