The fear of ADONAI [the LORD] leads to life, and he who has it rests satisfied, untouched by harm. Proverbs 19:23, TLV
When Bad Things Happen to Good People. Bad things happen to good people. All people. It’s the way of our fallen world. These bad things can leave wounds to our soul that affect how we see life and even our Heavenly Father. So, does that mean this passage is wrong? Because clearly, most of us have been touched by harm.
When we walk in reverence of the LORD — fear of ADONAI — those things don’t have to leave open wounds that fester and never heal. They may leave scars, but we as followers of Jesus, know that He demonstrated how scars can represent an amazing miracle. Redemption. Salvation. Tell a story that can change lives.
“Look at My hands and My feet—it is I Myself! Touch Me and see! For a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see I have.” Luke 24:39, TLV
“From now on let no one make trouble for me, for I bear on my body the scars of Yeshua.” Galatians 6:17, TLV
The fear of the LORD will lead to life — in this world and on to the next. Our battles in this world are not to keep ourselves from getting hurt, but to follow our Father through the valley of the shadow of death. And in that journey, we will fear no evil. (Psalm 23:4)
