When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom. Proverbs 11:2, TLV

Where is The Humble Place?     Oh my. It suddenly occurred to me that pride happens when we step outside the sacred place between us and our Heavenly Father.

When we know the Father and are in relationship with Him, we know who we are:

  • We are dust (Genesis 2:7; 3:19; 18:27; Psalm 103:14).
  • We were created, we’re not the Creator (Genesis 2:7).
  • We had to be redeemed for we were condemned (John 3:17-18).
  • We couldn’t redeem ourselves it took our Father’s own Son (John 3:16).

If we remain within these boundaries, we are wise. What if we live in this reality, then perhaps we wouldn’t struggle with pride.

This sacred place is where pride goes to die. May it rest in peace.

The next time we think we’re all that and a bag of chips, walk into the space that mirrors the truth — what reflects the reality of those four things back to us.

Today, when someone offends us, remember that an innocent Man died for our offense.

When someone compliments or flatters us and we begin to believe that it elevates us unnaturally, remember that we are dust.

When we think our God-given gifts are better than others, try to make it rain.

Our safest place is the sacred place. It is a humbling place where we are loved and cherished — not humiliated. And that’s a wise thing.

Think More About It

What are the truths that are especially meaningful to you in your sacred humble place?

Until tomorrow, may we live in the humble place, my friends.

The humble will see it and be glad. You who seek God, let your hearts revive. Psalm 69:33, TLV

Sometimes it is easy to fall into pride in our passion for being “right.” May our hearts be humble as we lift up Israel and the Jewish people. God bless you!
