Daily Word: Would Wisdom Hire Us? Proverbs 9:3

[Wisdom] has sent out her servant girls. She calls from the city’s heights… Proverbs 9:3, TLV

Would Wisdom Hire Us?      Would we even apply to be one of Wisdom’s servant girls? I would! I want to be someone she hires — someone she trusts enough to convey her invitations to men and women to join in our Heavenly Father’s feast. I want to be someone Wisdom trusts to be courageous, faithful, true, bold, and elegant — all that embodies Wisdom.

I want to be trained in how she likes her table set. How to prepare the appetizers that will cause her guests to want more. And perhaps, one day prepare the grand feast.

If we represent Wisdom well enough, then others will be drawn to our Father. Because our service points those hungry souls to Him. Even better, what if they follow us to Him, just as we followed others to Him.

Not to be perfect, but to be willing to keep trying.

In order for us to do these things, we apply ourselves to listen, learn, and do. Not to be perfectto be willing. To keep trying. And that’s a job I’d love to get. How about you?

Friend? Or Servant?

Didn’t Jesus say to us as His followers that we are more than servants, we are friends?  Isn’t this an inconsistency in titles? Not exactly.

“I am no longer calling you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing. Now I have called you friends, because everything I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. John 15:15, TLV

When Yeshua calls us friends, it means we are privy to things that a servant would not be. My dearest friends know me, that know what is important to me. And we I have a need they will try with all they are to help me—and I them.

A loyal servant will help their “boss” as much as they can. Perhaps even go an extra mile over and above the request. But that BFF doesn’t just go the extra mile on a request, they sense what the friend wants, not simply needs.

Our example is our BFF, Jesus.

It shall not be this way among you. But whoever wants to be great among you shall be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you shall be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:26-28, TLV

Think More About It

Would Wisdom hire you? How would that look for you in this season? As a BFF to the Lamb of God, how will we serve Him and those around us?

Until tomorrow, may we serve Wisdom well, my friends.

But you, Israel, My servant,
Jacob whom I have chosen,
descendant of Abraham, My friend—
I took hold of you from the ends of the earth,
and called from its uttermost parts,
and said to you, ‘You are My servant—
I have chosen you, not rejected you.” Isaiah 41:8-9, TLV

As we pray for Israel, the Jewish people, perhaps we can “remind” the LORD and agree with His promises concerning them. Yes? God bless you.
