What kind of messenger are we?
TODAY’S PROVERB: A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a faithful envoy brings healing. Proverbs 13:17, TLV
Before the Cloud. Before email. Before faxes. Before teletype. Before the phone. Before the postal service. There were messengers — people, not technology. People who carried messages of hope, war, peace, strategies, love, construction, advice, instructions . . .
Vital parcels or verbal messages these brave souls risked life and limb to deliver to their appointed destination. They personally communicated or handed off to the recipient.
These messengers had to be trustworthy, focused, reliable, and even willing to give their life in the call of service. Whether employed by king or countryman, a good messenger allowed nothing to detour them. Lives could depend upon these messages.
We are all messengers of the King of kings. We are the envoys of His salvation, healing, and peace. What kind of messenger are we? Faithful or foolish? Bold or timid? Reliable or distracted?
We are not only messengers, we are also our Heavenly Father’s message to a hurting, lost world. What we know and live each day can change lives — we just need to deliver it.
May we be His faithful messengers, my friends.
