TODAY’S PROVERB: Misfortune pursues sinners, but prosperity rewards the righteous. Proverbs 13:21, TLV

Bad things can happen to good — or “bad” — people. That’s the way of a sinful world, unfortunately. However, this proverb is about cause and effect. That is, the relationship between events or things, where one is the result of the other or others.

Have you ever noticed that some folks who should know better, tend to get into more trouble than others. It seems to follow — pursue — them. They were raised to know right from wrong, but choose to go their own way. Always thinking the results will be different than what GOD has clearly said. And when misfortune falls, they get angry with Him, rather than acknowledging their own responsibility.

“And he got up and went to his own father. But while he was still far away, his father saw him and felt compassion. He ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.” Luke 15:11-32, TLV

Maybe all that extra misfortune is just a loving Father’s way of calling them back. Like the father of the prodigal son, He’ll be waiting for us. Ready to celebrate and restore us to the family.

May we follow the way of righteousness, my friends.
