Today’s Blog: Are Your Words from Deep Waters?
TODAY’S PROVERB: The words of one’s mouth are deep waters, a fountain of wisdom, a flowing brook. Proverbs 18:4, TLV
Have you ever spoken wise and discerning words that penetrated someone’s heart? That those words you spoke came from the heart of GOD?
Being an instrument of our Heavenly Father is an awesome responsibility. When we live in His moment, live in His word, we’re more ready to give His message in due season.
Those moments don’t have to be a “Thus saith the LORD” moment. It can be natural and loving. We may not even know when it’s happening. In fact, this occurs more often than not.
The first time someone said, “What you said changed my life” was precious. But, it also was a bit embarrassing because I didn’t remember what I said to them. This has happened many times. Sometimes, I didn’t even remember meeting the person.
But, that’s okay. Because it means — at least to me — the words I spoke were not mine, they were His. I didn’t take ownership because the truth belongs to GOD.
When we live in wisdom, when we pursue knowledge, discernment, and understanding, words of wisdom will flow from us like a sweet river. Those thirsty for GOD and His love will be quenched because of that spring of Living Waters in us.
One of my favorite proverbs is Proverbs 2:10. One translation says, “Wisdom will come into your heart and it will be your pleasure to know things.” (American Translation) Don’t you love that? As we live Proverbs — as we live our Father’s word — wisdom will reside in us. It will be a ready resource when needed.
How amazing to know those deep waters. How blessed we are that the Creator of the Universe wants to share them with us. And, that He trusts us to share them with others.
May our words be deep waters, my friends.
