Wisdom’s Journey: Proverbs 24:33-34

Do you steward time?

TODAY’S PROVERB:
“A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to sleep,”
then your poverty comes tramping in,
and your need like an armed soldier. Proverbs 24:33-34, TLV

Our Creator knew our bodies needed rest and sleep. Every seven days He’s given us a Sabbath rest. Every evening, time to sleep.

When we’re sleep deprived, our bodies don’t function as they should. And our minds have to work harder to process.

But, when we sleep too much, it is a sign that something is off and we need to investigate. These areas we can’t control like illness, injury, grief, and depression. It is important to not let this go — to seek professionals. And once we’ve done that, then actually follow their instructions.

However, one reason we can control is laziness. Laziness is a choice. Which is good news, right? It means we can choose to not be lazy. We can choose to be good stewards of one of the greatest gifts our Heavenly Father has given us, time.

May we steward our time wisely, my friends.
