Today’s Blog: Quiet Strength

TODAY’S PROVERB: A wise man is strong, and a man of knowledge becomes even stronger. Proverbs 24:5, TLV

There are many types of strength. You know how I know? My husband, Bob. After 45 years of marriage, I have observed an amazing man of God who continues to surprise me. Where would I be without my Bob?

You’ve heard the saying, “He’s the strong, silent type.” Bob is the quiet strength in the room. When you engage Bob in a conversation, he will try to learn as much as he can about you. You’ll leave feeling good about yourself because he sees you.

He’s humble. Compassionate. Intelligent. Romantic. Funny. Dedicated. Perseverant. All these characteristics and more are why I love him.

We may think we’re weak because we can’t open a jar of pickles or our bodies can’t do even the simplest of tasks. But, there is that quiet strength that can lift someone’s spirit. Well-defined discernment “muscles” that rescue the naive from danger. Understanding that trains others how to be wise and strong, too.

We can be that quiet strength in the room.

May we be every kind of strong, my friends.
