Wisdom’s Journey: Proverbs 25:2

Today’s Blog: Searching?

TODAY’S PROVERB: It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, and the glory of kings to search it out. Proverbs 25:2, TLV

MERRY CHRISTMAS. Imagine being chosen to witness Yeshua’s [Jesus] arrival on this planet? Who did the Creator of the Universe choose? The wise and humble. Makes sense. From foreign “kings” to shepherds fresh from the fields, our Father gathered those hearts ready to welcome the Lamb who would take away the sins of the world.

The Lamb who “tabernacled” among His people (John 1:14). Not in a palace of wealth, but in humble form.

It’s no coincidence that the ancient scholars believed that the coming Messiah was both a Suffering Servant (ben Yosef) and King (ben David). Yeshua is the wise King of Kings, and humble Good Shepherd.

Fourth Night

The Fourth Night . . .

Tonight we light the fourth candle in the Hanukkah menorah — with the shammesh, the Servant candle. We remember the Temple’s restoration and dedication with hard work, faith, oil, and light. And how the idols and idolaters were removed. Then, as followers of Jesus, we see how He knits these concepts with His life in us.

“What agreement does God’s Temple have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God—just as God said, ‘I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.'”

PAUL, 2 CORINTHIANS 6:16, TLV

Our temples may be simple, frail, and flawed, but within us is the Spirit of the Living God who reigns for all eternity. The Light of the World (John 8:12). Who has anointed us with the oil of gladness (Hebrews 1:9).

Today, millions of people around the world celebrate the Messiah’s humble entrance into history. He brought healing, restoration, and salvation to the world — for those who are willing to receive it.

Together, we rejoice in the Creator of the Universe’s hand in all our lives. We celebrate the Light, the Joy, the Restoration, the Salvation.

May we search and find the wisdom and humility of the ages, my friends.
