Wisdom’s Journey: Proverbs 28:2

Terri GillespieWisdom’s Journey Through Proverbs

Have we sown seeds of rebellion?

TODAY’S PROVERBS: When a country is in rebellion, it has many rulers, but a man of discernment and knowledge maintains order. Proverbs 28:2

For those of us dissatisfied with the current “crop” of politicians and leaders, have we ever thought about our own culpability in these matters? What if we have sown seeds of rebellion and disunity with our criticism and judgmental attitude? Or worse, what if we have sown seeds of complacency by not voting or participating in being a voice for Biblical principles?

The good thing is, God is aware of all the problems. And the even better thing: He’s not in heaven wringing His hands or pacing the streets of gold in worry. Why? Because He has, in fact, already seen these days and all the days to come.

As His children, we are responsible for planting seeds of truth and lifting up prayers for our leaders — on both sides. What if we become a reasonable voice of discernment and knowledge? But, that comes about when we have a sense of purpose to learn our role in God’s plan.

We can’t give up and think there’s nothing we can do. As long as we have breath and there are righteous men and women in office, there is hope for us to be vessels of change.

May we be a person of discernment, knowledge, and purpose, my friends.
