Wisdom’s Journey: Proverbs 31:15

Terri GillespieWisdom’s Journey Through Proverbs

Today’s Blog: Early riser?

TODAY’S PROVERB: She rises while it is still night and provides food for her household and portions for her servant girls. Proverbs 31:15, TLV

Are you an early riser? I’ve learned over the years that our Heavenly Father created humans to fill different roles. The early risers handle the mornings and the night owls handle the evenings.

“On your walls, Jerusalem, I have set watchmen. All day and all night, they will never hold their peace. “You who remind Adonai, take no rest for yourselves . . .'”

ISAIAH 62:6, TLV
Not an early riser?

What we all need is a daily dose of calm and quiet with our Father. Those hours — or minutes — before the schedules begin and take us from that sweet time of intimacy.

As many of my friends know, my most productive days begin in the wee hours of the morning. If I don’t have that hour or two to fix my coffee, open my Bible, journal, I’m not able to “feed” others. In fact, I’m the one who is “hungry” all day.

For nearly four years I’ve had the honor of sharing those morning hours with you. And you in turn have “fed” me with your wisdom and insights, and sweet encouragement. Thank you, my friends.

By the way, because I am such an early riser, sometimes my night-owl friends and I can have a little fellowship, too. Together we are watchmen.

For as long as the LORD says to write these little blogs, I will do my best. Please, keep me in prayer as I continue to share my journey with you.

May wisdom feed you daily, my friends.
