Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of realities not seen. Hebrews 11:1, TLV

Faith is a noun and a verb. There is substance to faith even though we cannot touch, see, smell, taste, or hear it. When faith is put into action, the impossible is possible. In our salvation, faith is our part. If salvation was a rope, faith holds on to it.

Now without faith it is impossible to please God. For the one who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. (vs. 6, TLV)

Faith is not our expectations of what God should do. Respect is part of faith. Our relationship with the Creator of the Universe is the essence of faith. It is that inner certainty that not only is He real, but He is our everything.

“I pray not on behalf of [the disciples] only, but also for those who believe in Me through their message …” (From Yeshua’s prayer in the Garden, John 17:20, TLV)

I was thinking this morning — it happens from time to time. When Jesus prayed for His followers and disciples before He was betrayed and taken before Pilot (John 17), He prayed they would be one as He and the Father were one. But, Jesus did something beautiful, He prayed for us. Yes, us! Those that would believe in Him through the disciples’ message. Jesus prayed that we would have faith.

One thing I know for certain, His Father will answer that prayer.

So, when we feel our faith dwindle, remember that, not only did Yeshua die for us to have faith, He remembered us in the Garden and prayed that we would believe and have faith in Him. That’s comforting, don’t you think?

Shabbat shalom.
