Yeshua [Jesus] the Messiah is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  Hebrews 13:8, TLV

The Greatest Adventure!    What does today’s verse mean, really? Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever? Let’s think this through, as readers of the Bible, not as students or scholars. Let’s be sojourners toward the greatest adventure ever. Why not begin with the biggie, when Jesus said:

“Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day; he saw it and was thrilled.” Then the Judeans said to Him, “You’re not even fifty years old and you’ve seen Abraham?” Yeshua answered, “Amen, amen I tell you, before Abraham was, I am!” John 8:56-58, TLV [Emphasis Mine]

Before Yeshua came in the flesh (John 1:1-5), He was (Genesis 1:2). He is the Right Arm of God (Exodus 15) and “sits” on His throne to the right of His Father forever (Hebrews 8:1; 12:2); He is the Captain of the Hosts (Judges 6:11-35). He fulfilled the Law and prophets – not abolished it (Matthew 5:17).

So, when the writer of Hebrews says: Jesus is the same, yesterday, today, and forever, we realize what we read from Matthew to Revelation, is but a tiny understanding of who His is. Really, as with the Son, we must begin in Genesis and go all the way through to Revelation!

This is exciting, yes? We can explore even more of His exploits throughout Scripture—before He was named Yeshua [Jesus].

Why, all this will take an eternity!

At some point, we can ask Him face to face (1 Corinthians 13:12), and that will be the greatest adventure of all!
