For many are the victims she has brought down, and numerous are all her slain. Proverbs 7:26, TLV

Unwise Choices.     Okay, chapter seven is the last of the Proverbs’ chapters whose central themes are on those uncomfortable themes about seduction, fornication, and adultery. But we have learned that there are spiritual components to these themes that apply to us all. Why? Because we’re all tempted by something. We’re all seduced by those temptations tailored for us, unfortunately, by the enemy.

So, before we blink past this proverb, there’s something in this passage that caught my eye. I hope it will get us thinking.

Ready?

For those of us that believe we’re too smart to fall into any type of seduction, here’s something to think about. What are the temptations that we give into everyday? Maybe not even temptations, but unwise things. Things that place us in danger, but aren’t necessarily sins? Those unwise decisions we make that cause serious repercussions? Even the difference between life and death.

A few of those unwise decisions . . .

COVID-19 or any variant of influenza out there. The first unwise choice is obviously ignoring the recommended hygiene measures. Some believe they’re healthy and won’t be affected. Neither of these opinions are wise, and they have resulted in the spread of viruses for centuries.

Safety Restraint Devices. According to the National Highway Safety Administration, of the people who were killed on American highways, 48% were not wearing restraint devices.

Cell Phones. The National Safety Council announced that 1.6 million crashes each year are because of driving while using a cell. One out of every 4 car accidents in the U.S. alone are caused by texting and driving. That means at least 9 people will die today.

What unwise lifestyles and decisions do we make that can bring us down as victims? If we ask the LORD this question, I’m confident He will let us know. Why? Because the last thing He wants is for us to become victims of anything. Especially something that we could avoid — simply by making wise life choices.

Think More About It

Are there unwise choices you’re making? Are you ready to “just say no!” to those decisions?

Thanks for stopping by. If this blog was helpful, please share. God bless!

Until tomorrow, may we seek the LORD for any unwise lifestyles and decisions, my friends. God bless you and keep those prayers for Israel.
