Daily Word: What is Your Climb? Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Messiah who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13, TLV

What is Your Climb?   A rock climber? Really? The percentage of rock climbers in the world is less than 1%, so why did I choose that graphic? Because we all have a precipice before us — a challenge — that needs climbing. Whether cancer treatment, parenting, taking care of our parents, restoring relationships and marriages, getting good grades, finding a job, or any situation we’re struggling with, we have a climb before us.

Did you notice that Paul didn’t say, “GOD doesn’t give us anything we can’t handle?” That’s because it is not scriptural. There are thousands of things we won’t we able to climb on our own—probably more. When those insurmountable trials come into our life, we turn to Him, not our own strength.

Do we do anything in these circumstances? Absolutely. We let go, obey, or worship. Honestly, when these challenges arise, just doing those acts of faith are difficult.

Today’s verse is the culmination of Paul’s exhortation to the believers of Philippi:

I know what it is to live with humble means, and I know what it is to live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of contentment—both to be filled and to go hungry, to have abundance and to suffer need. Philippians 4:12, TLV

Whatever circumstances we’re in presently — whatever rock before us — we can climb in contentment and strength, because Jesus is our strength.
