Taste and see how good ADONAI [the LORD] is.
Blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. Psalm 34:9, TLV

You Remind Me, I’ll Remind You.   Today’s passage conveys more of the beauty and wonder that is faith and trust. More than “I believe” or “I trust” — it is “taste and see.” Then taking refuge in that bounty that is in our Heavenly Father.

David did this more than most men of his time. Despite or perhaps because of all his faults and sins, he was transparent and wrote them down in some of the most beautiful prose of the Bible. He was a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 12:14; Acts 13:22).

If we follow that example, we too can “taste and see.” We can do this by being transparent and worshipful, yes, but we have even great opportunities. For we can taste the unleavened bread and drink the fruit of the vine. We can “see” our Messiah’s salvation through His sacrifice on the cross.

God’s word is before us in nearly every conceivable form. We should have no excuse but to be men and women after His heart. If I were a betting woman, I would say we all know this, right?

Magnify ADONAI [the LORD] with me
and let us exalt His Name together. (vs. 9, TLV)

So, how about this: let’s remind one another that we have hearts like David — that special place in the heart of our Creator — because we are His redeemed children. Thanks to the atoning sacrifice of our Father’s Son, our Savior and Messiah, Yeshua. Halleluyah!

Shabbat shalom!
