A Father’s Love. The Gospel in a nutshell. The verse most Sunday School children memorize. The verse that says so much about so many themes it would take a lifetime to unpack it.

Resurrection and Life. John’s chapter eleven is so rich with insights and wonders, I had no idea what to focus on today’s Daily Word. So, I settled on the most powerful. Jesus making it so clear that of all the prophets of old — even Moses — He was different. Yes, there were other prophets who were anointed by GOD to resurrect the dead (1 Kings 17:17ff; 2 Kings 13:20-21), but those resurrected would eventually die.
Daily Word: 1 Corinthians 15:57
Wow! Paul’s first book to the Corinthians is saturated with references to the Torah (Genesis to Deuteronomy), the Prophets, and the Writings. Why? One reason is, well, he was a Jewish scholar. But mainly because most of his audience — his readers — were from a non-Biblical background, and as new believers their behavior was problematic. Divisiveness, sexual misbehavior, marriage problems, folks suing one another, disruptions during services, and the list goes on.
