Wisdom’s Journey: Proverbs 2:1

Terri GillespieWisdom’s Journey Through Proverbs

Are you searching for treasures?

TODAY’S PROVERB: My son, if you accept my words and treasure my mitzvot [commandments] within you . . . Proverbs 2:1, TLV

What if someone gave you a treasure map with the assurances — the guarantee — that you would be able to find the gold, silver, and precious jewels? Would you use the map? Press in to find the treasure? I sure would.

The Bible is our treasure map. And when we follow its direction we will discover much more than trinkets and metals, we will find the way to eternal life. The path to wisdom. The tools to live an abundant life with knowledge, discernment, and understanding. And so much more.

So many of us let our map gather dust on a shelf. We seek shortcuts to the treasures, but these shortcuts never seem to work.

Following the map takes effort and commitment. If we think we can do it without a map, well, we’ll be disappointed.

Or we’ll find a counterfeit treasure.

Some find one or two treasures, then stop looking. Yet there are hidden treasures everywhere. Every day.

We just have to accept our Heavenly Father’s words, follow His instructions, and commandments, then treasure all that He has stored away for us.

May we seek God’s treasures every day, my friends.
