Shaken Peace? Is our covenant of peace shaken, today? Are the mountains and hills around us shaking so badly, we wonder if or how we’ll get through this? Our Father’s covenants are not broken. We may mess up and not live up to our end, but His covenants are eternal.
Trust and Love. That’s the context of today’s verse. What do I mean by this?
Trust. It was after midnight. My future mother-in-love and I were driving back from visiting my future hubby, who was in Navy boot camp outside Chicago. The day had been emotional and long making the drive back to St. Louis arduous.
From time to time, I need reminding. Where I put my glasses. Adding butter to the shopping list. But a truly important reminder is about perspective. GOD’s perspective.
There’s that word: Chazak! Be strong! Our context? Joshua’s beloved mentor has gone off somewhere to die, where GOD Himself would buried him. Now, it is time to enter the long awaited Promised Land.
I live in my head. It’s helpful as an author, but can be detrimental to my emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Do you know what I mean? Today’s verse describes me a little too accurately. If left unchecked, my troubling thoughts will multiply.
The most important part of this chapter? Worship! Praise! Lifting GOD above all.
The commandment of love: Many still believe that Jesus ushered in the “doing away with” the Law. Nope. What He did was fulfill it (Matthew 5:17).
