Most of you know of my love of the book of Proverbs. Today’s verse was the key to a sweet insight: passing on our legacy.
Daily Word: Ecclesiastes 7:9
Provocation and anger. Yowzers! The writer of Ecclesiastes had incredible insights into humanity in chapter 7, especially today’s verse.
Daily Word: James (Jacob) 3:13
“Good conduct.” Does showing our deeds in the gentleness of wisdom looks different than “ordinary” deeds? On the surface, probably not. But wisdom deepens everything we do from a kind word to a kind deed. Why?
Daily Word: 2 Corinthians 9:7
You’ve probably felt that moment. The moment where you know what to give — whether money or time or a physical item — and the peace you feel is stronger than the, “Wait! What?” This isn’t about our tithes, tithes are a given, commanded — this is about offerings and what Paul is talking about with the people of Corinth.
Daily Word: Proverbs 1:7
Ah, my dear friends. We can’t avoid it. Here is one of the primary reasons why
we don’t simply study Proverbs and move on to our next study. It is because wisdom begins with the fear of the LORD. We can study the the definitions of what scholars tell us the fear of the LORD means, but because the fear of the ADONAI is intrinsically woven into our pursuit of wisdom, discernment, and knowledge, it is to be lived.
Daily Word: Proverbs 23:24
How many have a wise child? Not everyone, unfortunately. Hubby and I didn’t get the wisdom thing ourselves — even as believers — until our daughter was on her own. That meant the poor thing went through the same hard lessons we did. Even harder in some respects.
Daily Word: Philippians 1:9-10
How are we to respond in love when others behave badly?
Daily Word: Proverbs 9:10
There is no Wisdom — true Wisdom — without the LORD. He is the source, because He is the Creator of the Universe.
